About us
We are Louis and Sjanny Eeftens, and we live in a little village called Zuidland (Zuid-Holland). As the website has probably told you already we are big Japanese Chin enthusiasts....... a couple of years ago it started with one little black and white Chin and it only got better after that. We can't imagine a life without our little fuzzballs.
Our family consists of 4 people: the two of us, and our daughters Wilna and Ellen. Ellen recently moved back home from Nijmegen, and of course she brought her two little Chins along. So now we've got 8 Chins, and a German Shepherd, which makes our home very lively, and very pleasant!
As you can see in the slideshow Zuidland is situated very nice; we've got nature on our doorstep.....even the beach is nearby, something our little Chins appreciate very much! We often take the dogs out on long walks. The village itself is not that large.....about 5200 inhabitants, but we do have our own mall! :)
We are very proud of our kennel, and Ellen's for that matter. Our kennelname, Shimo, was formed through merging two names together: the name of one of our dogs, and the name of a dog belonging to the person we used to work with. Ellen got her own kennelname this year, and she choose for the name Moony's Faith.
We keep our dogs in our home, so they're basically always with us. They've got free access to the garden, and when the weather is good they can play in the small garden in front of the house. They love to watch the children pass by to go to school.
The health of our Chins is very important to us, so they are checked regularly. We take them to our vet but if something's up we take them to a specialist in Sleeuwijk, dr Strikker (link on link-page).
Every now and then we have a litter of pups, something we enjoy very much. Seeing those little rascals grow up is something beautiful, and it is hard every time we have to let one go.......but knowing they'll go to a good home makes it better. That's why we insist people visit us and the pups several times so we can really get to know each other.
Breeding in a good manner is very important to us, so we breed according to the rules of the Dutch Pekingees- en Dwergspaniel Club and the Dutch Kennel Club (Raad van Beheer). We are members of:
Pekingees en Dwergspaniel Club
Belgische Club der Akita's en aanverwante hondenrassen
The Kynologen Vereniging Voorne Putten
The Internationalen Club e.V. fur Japan-Chin, Peking- Palasthunde und King Charles Spaniel
We hope you'll enjoy our site and if you've got any questions or comments, please feel free to email or call us. Visitors are welcome, but please call in advance.
